How does VOS work?

Behind the scenes, VOS integrates seamlessly and securely with your Vision system.

Before a patient can access online services they need to register, and an account is created for them as part of their record in Vision.

The patient registration process has been designed to make sure that only the patient can set up and access their online account. The simple steps to this robust process are:

  • The patient registers at the practice with photographic ID
  • The patient is given a registration letter that contains their registration details
  • The patient logs activates their account online with a username and password of their choice (see screen shot below)
  • The patient confirms their registration by clicking on a link that is emailed to them

Online account administration

VOS provides simple administration for online accounts:

  • Set your own personalised welcome message for patients
  • Stop patients that abuse the system from accessing online services
  • Vision can prompt you when a selected patient is not yet registered
  • Disable accounts for patients that choose not to use the service any more
  • Patients can change their own passwords
