Vision Online Services at Buxton Medical Practice

Buxton Medical Practice in Derbyshire has been using Vision since it was first available. The practice has 5 GP partners, 3 nurses and a patient list approaching 8,000. In September 2010 the practice started to use Vision Online Appointments, as a pilot site, and since then over 400 patients have registered to use the service.

INPS asked Ann Sellors, the IT Manager, how the installation was for Vision Online Appointments. Ann summed it up in one word; "Easy."  Vision Online Appointments is designed to be so user-friendly that anyone can use it, Ann tells us the most popular age group to register so far at Buxton Medical practice is "40-80 year olds and families, not many teens or 20 year olds."

One of the huge benefits that Vision Online Appointments has promised is to save your practice time, and Ann agrees that it has: "Once 50% of the patients have registered I expect it will save quite a bit of time, we’ve already saved 200 phone calls so far!"

The feedback has been really positive from patients, Ann explains. "The few patients I have spoken to love it. They find it very easy to use once they are registered and like being able to choose their own appointments themselves. A few have requested for repeats to be on the system."

These patients will be pleased to know that Vision Online Repeats is coming during the summer of 2011, and this will allow them to request their repeat medication online.
