Vision 360 and the Individual Health Record
Informing Healthcare, the NHS Wales Informatics Service, has worked with healthcare professionals to develop the Individual Health Record (IHR). This allows doctors in out-of-hours clinics and emergency care settings to access patient records kept by their registered GP, giving doctors and nurses the information they need to help them make important decisions about how the patient is treated.
In September 2009 INPS was the first system supplier to sign an agreement with Informing Healthcare to provide the service, which involves displaying detailed summary information in Adastra’s out-of-hours system. This information includes:
- Medications
- Allergies
- Adverse reactions
- Current problems and diagnoses
- Test results
After an initial upload of data from the practices’ Vision 3 systems, data is streamed into the Vision 360 repository throughout the working day.
Vision 360 was the sole system used in the first community to use the IHR, and is now deployed in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion (part of Hywel Dda Local Health Board) and Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board.
