Introducing Vision

Vision is the clinical system of choice for a continually increasing number of UK GP practices. It is a reliable, stable and proven system that is renowned for its ease of use, flexibility and superior support service.
Vision supports all major clinical and messaging standards and continues to be developed to meet the national service requirements in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The success of Vision

Vision is a popular system; its user base has grown significantly each year since 1999. Due to this success we are hugely experienced in converting data and migrating practices to Vision, and understand how to make this process as easy as possible.

Providing sufficient, high quality training is a critical factor for a successful migration to Vision, which is why INPS Training Services has a team of over forty experienced trainers across the UK. A vast range of hands-on courses, training seminars and consultancy services are also available to established Vision practices.
Vision users are encouraged to become members of the National Vision User Group, a friendly and supportive network of Vision enthusiasts that helps new and established Vision users to get the most from their system.

Hosted alternative

Over one quarter of all live Vision systems are deployed using the Vision Enterprise System model, where the critical data is hosted securely in a remote data centre. In August 2008 Vision became the first system to gain GPSoC Level 4 compliance, meeting NHS Connecting for Health standards for hosting.

Integration and interoperability

Vision offers integration with the wider health community via its flexible messaging and web services, handling a range of clinical messages from other systems including:

  • Electronic Discharge Summaries
  • Radiology
  • Encrypted pathology
  • Referrals (e-booking)
  • Out of Hours Summaries

In addition, external web-enabled applications can be embedded within Vision, allowing patient information from external sources to be accessed directly from the Vision desktop.

Extending Vision

The INPS Alliance Partner Programme allows specialist third-party products to integrate with Vision. These INPS endorsed solutions include scanning and document management, touch screen check-in, telephone and web-based appointments, SMS text messaging and remote access to data from mobile devices.
