The IT Manager

Quayside Medical Practice in Londonderry has been using Vision since April 2003. IT Manager, Timothy Brown, says Vision has influenced improvements to the way they work during this time, “Some of the biggest changes have been in hospital correspondence and results as these used to be manually filed in a patient’s chart – Vision has now made the whole process effortless as letters can be scanned straight into the patient record and results file automatically, ready for the doctor to look at, saving hours of manual filing.”The IT Manager

Vision is improving the efficiency of the practice in other ways too, as Timothy explains, “I like the way we can create our own personalised views and guidelines to suit the data entry and reporting requirements of particular individuals. Vision also integrates with many third party solutions – a classic example is LabelTrace, which saves a lot of time for the nurses in our busy treatment room by allowing them to print multiple patient labels for sample bottles and forms at the touch of a button.”

Timothy describes how Vision makes his life as an IT Manager easier, “There’s rarely a problem with backups and the various automated downloads. If there is, the helpline and engineers are very good and the dial-in service is great as they can see what the problem is and can get it sorted very quickly. The INPS trainers who have provided training within the practice know the system inside out and make it very easy to understand. They are excellent and have shown me everything I need to know about creating guidelines and reports for the practice.”
