The Local Vision Community

Killowen Medical Centre is a training practice based in Coleraine, Co. Londonderry, and they are a long-standing Vision practice, having used clinical systems from INPS since 1992.

Practice Manager, Beverley Goldsworthy, explains why Vision is popular at the practice, “We use guidelines that meet our specific needs ensuring we all enter the same Read codes, this sounds obvious but is so important. Vision’s Clinical Audit is also an excellent tool, highlighting negative areas as well as positives so we can focus attention where it is most needed.”

Beverley describes the benefits of the strong local Vision community in her area, “Fortunately both my neighbouring Practice Managers are Vision users with many years experience of the system and we regularly share ideas and guidelines, three heads are always better than one!  With a rare exception, all practices in our locality use Vision - that in itself speaks volumes.”

Despite this wealth of local experience with Vision, Beverley knows that regular training is a vital aspect of getting the most from the system, “It is important that new staff have the opportunity to get further training from the experts at INPS rather than picking up our bad habits!  The INPS training is excellent, I collate a practice wish-list/trouble shooting list from all the disciplines and the trainer always manages to get to the end of the list. They are never in a hurry to leave, always checking to see if there is anything else they can help with.”

When asked why she thinks Vision is the best system Beverley says, “Vision meets the needs of everyone at our practice including the clinical, administrative and management teams. It suits all disciplines and skill levels, we range from IT novices to computer graduates and we all find it user-friendly as you can adapt the screen to suit individual needs. On top of this, over the past year our downtime has been zero.”
