Moving to Vision

Barbara Graham is the Practice Manager at Strathpeffer Medical Practice, where they started using Vision in January 2010. “We were a bit reluctant to migrate to a new system so close to the contract year end, so we discussed this with other practices who had switched in January in previous years, and we were convinced by them that the migration didn’t interfere with contract goals.”
Barbara describes how impressed she was with migrating to Vision. “The whole experience was very smooth. The INPS team had everything planned out so that we knew exactly what we should be doing at each stage. They helped with migration paperwork and gave us lots of tips to make the experience as painless as possible. They were very professional at every level.”
Providing patients with the best possible service is key to the day-to-day running of the practice and Vision helps with this. “The clinicians like navigating around consultation manager, and the ‘problems area’ is popular. Being able to flag up outstanding items on the post-it notes is very useful, and has already been shown to improve opportunistic screening & coding.” Barbara’s job is easier to manage with Vision’s powerful search and report function. “As a practice manager, being able to extract information readily is very important, and Vision allows me to do this with ease. The search & report tools make efficient work of contacting groups of patients.”
Training has always been valued by Vision users and Strathpeffer Medical Practice is no exception. “It was generally agreed across the practice staff that the standard of the pre and post go-live training was superb. The trainers were knowledgeable, easy-going, and very flexible. They were able to deliver training in such a way that we could adapt Vision to suit our needs. I couldn’t commend them highly enough. Although I haven’t used it extensively as yet, the in-system help screens also look very user-friendly.”
Why is Vision the best clinical system available for GP practices? “Although we have only been using Vision for a short period, we are already beginning to see the benefits of having a system that is easily adaptable. ‘One size fits all’ does not apply to general practice, and having a flexible clinical system that we can mould to suit our requirements is invaluable.”
