Vision Docman

Vision Docman is a document management system developed for Vision users. It improves the way documents are moved around the practice and speeds up communications with external organisations.

Practices using Vision will benefit from improved security and availability of their patient-related correspondence and other practice documents.

Waste less paper

Practices using Vision Docman use less paper. As well as allowing practices to move electronically created documents around the practice, old paper-based records can be scanned and converted into electronic files that won't wear out, get ripped or suffer from damage such as coffee spillages.

Because Vision Docman holds documents electronically, valuable floor space occupied by filing cabinets can be reclaimed and used for other purposes.

Communicate faster

With Vision Docman information reaches the right person at the right time. It automatically workflows documents to the appropriate people within the practice, which is faster and more secure than moving paper around the practice. Vision Docman also allows documents to be sent to more than one person at the same time.

Automatic filing with Vision Docman Plus

Vision Docman Plus enhances the functionality by adding Intellisense, which automatically recognises a document and the patient it belongs to based on its content.

By analysing the document text and extracting key information (such as the date of birth, NHS/CHI number and patient name) Vision Docman Plus can match the document to the correct patient.

The document is then compared against a set of practice-specific templates to determine its source and content. For example, a practice might have a pre-defined template that allows Vision Docman Plus to identify the hospital, the department, the consultant and the document type.

Improve data quality with intelligent summarising

Having filed the document against the patient's clinical record, the summarising element of Vision Docman Plus extracts diagnosis Read codes using sophisticated proximity algorithms and relevance scoring. During the summarising process the patient's clinical history can be referenced, along with the text from the document being summarised and the prioritised extracted Read codes.

Vision Docman Plus works with...

Vision Docman Plus is compatible with scanned documents as well as Microsoft Word, HTML, RTF, TXT and CSV files. Scanned documents filed with Vision Docman Plus are automatically converted into text using optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
