Pocket Vision

Pocket Vision is the award winning portable version of Vision. It provides secure access to the patient’s medical history, therapy and test results away from the practice using a PDA or laptop. Any changes made are synchronised with the main Vision database when the clinician returns to the practice.

Improving the working lives of staff

Pocket Vision is a labour saving device. Instead of making notes away from the practice and manually updating them later, the clinician updates the medical record during the home visit using a PDA or laptop, and this is synchronised with Vision on return to the practice.

Enhancing patient services

Pocket Vision allows clinicians to access critical patient information when away from the practice. This improves patient safety and encourages an accurate and speedy diagnosis.

The system is extremely useful during nursing homes visits, when the doctor may be asked to see several patients during one visit. Pocket Vision enhances patient safety by providing access to all of these patients’ full medical records. When patients require a prescription, Pocket Vision enables the GP to check the name of the drug, its dose, quantity and form, avoiding potential errors.

Increasing efficiency at the surgery

Pocket Vision enables the GP to respond to requests for information out of hours – perhaps from the coroner about a sudden death, or from out-of-hours carers with questions about a patient’s history or medication.

Pocket Vision can also reduce the number of revisits and subsequent telephone calls to patients due to the doctor not having access to records at the time of consultation.
