Who Should Attend?

This course is designed especially for Vision users who are able to run complex searches and reports, but would like to learn flexible and powerful methods of interrogating their results. Ideally, you should also have a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel.

Aims and Objectives

A typical Vision system holds a huge amount of clinical data, but do you know how to translate this data into useful information?

This course will show you how to identify invaluable information that can help to prioritise patient care, highlight problems with your practice data or spot trends and weaknesses at an early stage. It will even help you to identify invalid or miscoded data or items entered in free text.

The course will also explain how to use Microsoft Excel to view information in easily understood graphical and table formats.

• Learn how to run complex clinical searches and attach appropriate report selections
• Understand the export and import process 
• Discover the power of Microsoft Excel and learn how to translate vast amounts of data into meaningful information
• Learn how to interrogate data to identify items stored in free text

• Brief recap of advanced searches
• Complex Vision searches
• Batches
• Schedule
• Group input\output
• Using Clinical Audit groups
• Exporting Data from Vision, including the export process, protecting existing files and when to use DBF or CSV files
• Importing & Analysing Data in Excel, including the import process, tidy up functions, autofilter andsorting data, running pivot tables
• Setting up MSQuery including installing a driver, process overview, purposes for using MS Query,
  and set up options
• Running MSQuery incuding running a query, choosing fields and linking databases

Course Details
