The Value of Vision Training

Armada Surgery in Plymouth has been using Vision for many years and regularly invests in training from INPS. INPS Training Consultant, Carl Woodroffe, visited the practice in October 2010 to provide a one day consultancy; even though the practice has many experienced Vision users, they still learnt how to work more efficiently and will save time as a result of the training.

Great advice

Practice Manager, Jo Skinner, made the most of the opportunity to improve the way they use Docman, “As a result of Carl’s advice I will be changing many of our Docman templates to speed up the filing process. I also discovered how to check everyone’s in-trays so I can make sure actions are completed on time.”

Vision shortcuts

Carl spent some time with the receptionists and was able to show them how to use best shortcuts. Looking at QOF and guidelines with the practice nurses helped them with searches and also showed them how they could reduce the number of patient recalls. This part of the day crystallised Carl’s views on the value of Vision training, “Here’s the thing that practices don’t realise about training – we can help them a lot with targeting QOF patients, stopping multiple appointments, reducing workload and streamlining systems. Armada Surgery may save themselves a day’s work each month just from the few QOF areas we looked at.”

A fantastic resource

Jo was very pleased with Carl’s consultancy visit, “He has a laid back, but helpful approach to training, with an emphasis on learning how the practice operates so he can show us how to use Vision more effectively to achieve our objectives in the most efficient manner. Vision training from INPS is a great resource, well worth the investment.”
