McAfee Enterprise V8.0

Please be aware that McAfee Enterprise V8.0 came to end of life on 31/03/2010 so will therefore not update automatically from then on. If you do use this version you will need to contact your McAfee administrator to ensure your software is running effectively and kept up to date.

You can check what version of McAfee you are running by right clicking on the McAfee icon on the bottom right hand corner of your desktop and choosing “About Virus Scan Enterprise”

Even though INPS do not support McAfee Enterprise V8.0 we feel duty bound to inform all users of this.

Withdrawal of Out-of-Date GP10 Stationery in DLM 300 (SCOTLAND ONLY)

The following applies to Scottish sites only:

A change in DLM 300 requires that you make an amendment to the print profiles used within Vision. Vision uses these print profiles to ensure that prescription information matches the version of the GP10 form in use at your practice. If any of your print profiles currently specify an out-of-date version, a simple change to the print profile must be made before you will be able to print prescriptions in DLM 300.

This is to comply with requirements for ePharmacy prescribing.

This can be carried out before or after DLM 300 is installed, but is best done before if possible. Please refer to the PDF available via this link.

Choose and Book Upgrade - ActiveX message

Please be advised that the version of Choose and Book will be updated this weekend to 4.3

After the CAB 4.3 upgrade, Vision users will see an ActiveX warning, example below, when using Choose and Book, however, the browser configuration is correct. Please select “Continue without installation” and you can continue to use the system as normal.

This problem is expected to be rectified in DLM 300, however we have made a utility available (see below) to resolve this issue that can be downloaded and run before DLM 300 to avoid this issue. Please note all users will need to be logged out of Vision before this utility is run. This can be run from any workstation logged onto the Vision system.

Sites on our Hosted Systems need not run this utility as this will be run for them.

The Utility can be downloaded from here.

To run the utility:

  • Save it to your computer.
  • Ensure all users are logged out of Vision
  • Double click on the utility to run it..
  • If you are asked it you want to run the software, click Yes.
  • The utility will let you know once it is complete and whether it has been successful.
  • Press any key to complete.

English DES Audits

Some practices have reported to our helpline that their English DES Audits are incorrect when generated after 31 March 2010, specifically affecting the Alcohol DES audit.

The problem is that the DES Alcohol criteria that was presented to us was looking for patients over 16 years registered between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010. Once the audit was generated after the 1 April 2010, it would start looking at the new year (April 2010  - March 2011).

To overcome this issue, we have had to change audit and have released version 12014 of the English DES audits. It is important to note that this audit will only look for entries added before 31 March 2010. It will not take into account any new entries made after 1 April 2010. For this reason we have kept these two audits apart. Version 12014  will not overwrite your existing DES audit but will import as a complete separate audit which gives practices the opportunity to look at last financial year’s figures in the version 12014. We will be release the current 2010-2011 DES audits as soon as we are given the criteria.

The new audits can be downloaded here: http://www.inps4.co.uk/clinical-audits/downloads/
