Success with Vision

Vision 3 was one of the first Windows-based clinical systems to be launched in the UK, establishing INPS as the supplier with the expertise, experience and confidence to innovate.

Each of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland has its own national IT initiatives that cover services such as electronic prescribing, referrals and discharge management, and transferring patient information between practices.

Vision supports all of these national services, but rather than develop different versions of Vision for each home country, INPS has added this functionality into a single version of the Vision software. This means we have just one system to develop, test, maintain, deploy and support. In turn, this leads to better reliability and higher quality support.

England

Vision is available under GPSoC, and supports the following national services:

• The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
• Choose and Book
• GP2GP record transfer

Wales

• Almost half of all practices in Wales use Vision
• Vision is one of only a limited number of systems that Welsh Practices can choose from the Welsh assembly Framework
• There are over 100 practices live on the Welsh Enterprise System – the hosting environment dedicated to Wales
• Vision is conformance tested for the new 2DRx prescribing initiative

Scotland

• Vision is the system of choice for a growing number of Scottish practices and health boards
• Over the past two years over 170 practices have changed to Vision
• Vision supports eAMS, with other e-health projects coming soon

Northern Ireland

• Vision is used in one in every three practices in Northern Ireland
